MSM Client Erik Kratz earns call up to the Phillies, starts and receives number one Web Gem on ESPN

September 17, 2011 - MSM client Erik Kratz was rewarded for his outstanding season with a call up to the Philadelphia Phillies. It didn’t take long for Kratz to prove his worth as the Phillies clinched the division title in Kratz’s first game on the roster.

Kratz wasted no time in making his presence known, hitting a double and making a highlight reel play at home plate in his first start. His diving tag at home plate on an attempted squeeze bunt was the number one Web Gem on Baseball Tonight, and was the number two play of the day on SportsCenter’s top plays.

Kratz will serve as the back-up catcher for the remainder of the regular season and into the playoffs, where the Phillies are among the favorites to contend for the World Series.

 

 

MSM signs two highly regarded pitching prospects with the Cardinals and Dodgers

September 15, 2011 - Cory Rauschenburger of the St. Louis Cardinals joined MSM on September 2, 2011. Cory appeared in 46 games for Triple-A Memphis finishing 5-2 with a 2.87 ERA. He will be heading into the 2012 season competing for a job in the bullpen for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Javier Solano of the Los Angeles Dodgers also joined the MSM family on September 4, 2011. Javier is one of the top prospects in the Dodgers oranization, and put up impressive numbers this season in High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Chattanooga. In High-A, Javier appeared in 26 games, posting a 4.09 ERA and striking out 45 hitters in just 44 innings. Javier was even better during his 19 games with Double-A Chattanooga, finishing the season with a sparkling 3.03 ERA and 27 strikeouts. Javier will compete for a bullpen job with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2012.

 

 

MSM signs talented college teammates from Bethune-Cookman

September 11, 2011 - Matt Johnson and Patrick Brown, college teammates at Bethune-Cookman, became teammates in another aspect as both joined the MSM team. Matt was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2010 as he proved to be one of the most dynamic playmakers in the conference. Matt was signed by the BC Lions immediately after his college season.

Patrick enjoyed a successful college career and signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders immediately after his season. He is playing wide receiver and kick returner with the Riders.

 

 

Minor League Baseball Clients for MSM see many promotions and successful seasons

September 10, 2011 - It was a very exciting and eventful season for our minor league baseball players. Shairon Martis of the Washington Nationals was dominant for Double-A Harrisburg, pitching gems on a regular basis including a no-hitter on August 26. Martis was named Double-A Eastern League Player of the Week after his no-hitter against New Hampshire.

It seemed as though MSM clients were being promoted on a daily basis throughout the season. Raymond Kruml impressed the Yankees organization with a line of .290 and 37 stolen basis for Double-A Trenton, and the club promoted him to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre where he played the final 12 games of the season.

Just before Kruml’s promotion, Ryan Jenkins of the Kansas City Royals was promoted to Triple-A Omaha, and Trevor Feeney of the Detroit Tigers was moved up to Triple-A Toldeo.

Dean Anna of the San Diego Padres also enjoyed a promotion to Double-A San Antonio after hitting .311 at High-A Lake Elsinore. Dean finished the year hitting .253 in his 70 games for San Antonio.

Derrick Mitchell of the Philadelphia Phillies showcased some big time power in his first season with Double-A Reading. Mitchell finished the season with 19 home runs and 79 RBI, both career highs. Mitchell will become a free agent at the end of the season and will be sought after by many clubs.

Kenny Faulk of the Detroit Tigers showcased his dominance in an excellent year with High-A Lakeland. Kenny pitched in 48 games for Lakeland, striking out 67 batters in 52.2 innings and posting a 2.56 ERA. Kenny earned an All-Star appearance at the mid-season All-Star game.

Many other MSM clients saw successful seasons, including our 2011 MLB Draft Class, where three of our clients earned immediate promotions to High A after just several weeks with their respective clubs.

 

 

MSM Client Shairon Martis throws no-hitter for Senators

August 26, 2011 - Shairon Martis of the Washington Nationals was dominant for Double-A Harrisburg, pitching gems on a regular basis including a no-hitter on August 26, 2011.. Martis was named Double-A Eastern League Player of the Week after his no-hitter against New Hampshire. Martis posted a 3.05 ERA and struck out 146 hitters at year's end.

Martis will become a free agent at the end of the MLB season. He will be considered a hot commodity during the free agent frenzy.

 

 

MSM Client Yhency Brazoban Signs With the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks

August 2, 2011- Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that right-handed pitcher Yhency Brazoban has signed with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan. Brazoban signed a three year deal with the Hawks and will make an immediate impact pitching in relief for the team and is excited for the next step in his career. Before signing with the Hawks, Brazoban appeared in six games with the Arizona Diamondbacks before being outrighted to Triple-A Reno on July 20th. Prior to joining the Diamondbacks organization Brazoban played for  the Texas Rangers Triple-A team Round Rock, in which he appeared in 20 games.

Brazoban, a native of the Dominican Republic, signed with the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1997. Originally an outfielder, Brazoban made the 1999 and 2000 Gulf Coast League All-Star teams, but the Yankees converted him to a pitcher in 2003. He was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 13, 2003 and made his Major League debut on August 5, 2004 while working as a setup man for Eric Gagne. Brazoban pitched for the Dodgers through 2009.

 

 

MSM Client Tyson DeVree Signs With the Indianapolis Colts

August 2, 2011- Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that Tyson DeVree has signed with the Indianapolis Colts. DeVree was claimed off waivers by the Colts shortly after the Cleveland Browns released him before the start of training camp. DeVree played college football at the University of Colorado after transferring from Western Michigan and signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May of 2008. DeVree was promoted to the Patriots active roster in November and played at tight end and on special teams in two games. After being waived in 2009 he was briefly signed and released by the Buffalo Bills before signing and playing for the Hartford Colonials (UFL), where he caught 18 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns. DeVree was signed to the Browns practice squad in December of 2010.

 

 

MSM Client Davonte Shannon Signs With the Washington Redskins

August 2, 2011- Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that Davonte Shannon has signed a contract with the Washington Redskins. Davonte played safety at the University of Buffalo and is the school’s all-time leading tackler. At Buffalo he was a four time All-MAC performer and was an outstanding tackler, coverage safety and team leader. Despite not being drafted, Davonte looks forward to the start of his NFL career and is poised to make an immediate impact for the Redskins.

 

 

Brian Stroud of the Detroit Tigers signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

August 2, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Brian Stroud, a right-handed pitcher with the Detroit Tigers Organization.  Brian who was recently drafted by the Tigers, played four years at Western Michigan University.

Stroud, as a redshirt-junior from Joliett, Ill., was Western Michigan’s top starter and finished last season at 8-4 with a 3.20 ERA, striking out 74 and walking 25. He could have returned to WMU for one more season, but the Broncos coach Billy Gernon encouraged him to turn pro.

 

 

 

Tyson DeVree of the Cleveland Browns signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

June 22, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Tyson DeVree, a tight end for the Cleveland Browns. DeVree played college football at the University of Colorado after transferring from Western Michigan and signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May of 2008. Jake Sabol of the Detroit Tigers signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

June 22, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Jake Sabol, a right handed pitcher with the Detroit Tigers Organization.  Jake who was recently drafted by the Tigers, played four years at Central Michigan University.

While a senior at Central Michigan, Jake tossed back to back complete game shutouts against Akron and Ohio while posting a 4.13 ERA and was second on the team in wins. He also fanned a season high seven batters in a complete game win against Eastern Michigan University. Jake is very excited to start the next phase of his career with the Tigers.

 

 

Garret Smith of the Tampa Bay Rays signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

June 10, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Garret Smith, a right-handed pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Smith was drafted by the Rays in the 20th round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft.

This past season, Smith captained the Boston College team leading the team with six saves and a 2.87 ERA after earning the closer role. He made 17 appearances out of the bullpen, pitching 15.2 innings and striking out 14. He also produced offensively, leading the team in doubles and RBIs while finishing second on the team with 48 hits.

 

 

Eric Heckaman of the Detroit Tigers signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

June 10, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Eric Heckaman, a right-handed pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization. Heckaman was drafted by the Tigers in the 35th round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft.

This past season, Heckaman pitched for Western Michigan University, making 14 appearances and striking out 37 in 63.2 innings pitched. He threw the most innings of any WMU pitcher and pitched ten no-hit innings against Eastern Michigan, striking out seven, before giving up a single in the bottom of the 11th. He struck out a career-high eight hitters the next month against St. Bonaventure.

 

 

Tony Caldwell of the Florida Marlins signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

June 10, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Tony Caldwell, a catcher in the Florida Marlins organization. Caldwell was drafted by the Marlins in the 24th round of the 2011 June Amateur Draft. This past season, Caldwell hit .349 with eight doubles and a career-high ten home runs, driving in 41 RBIs. He made 49 starts, splitting time between catching and playing in an injury plagued Auburn outfield. He played especially well down the stretch, hitting safely in 10 of the last 12 games including an eight game hit streak in which he went 13-26. He also played well in SEC games, hitting .321 and leading the team with a .571 average in the SEC Tournament.

 

Cristian Vasquez of the Tampa Bay Rays signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

May 26, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Cristian Vasquez, a right-handed pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Vasquez was signed by the Rays in 2007 as an outfielder, and in 2010 was converted into a pitcher. Vasquez is currently in extended spring training with the Gulf Coast League Rays. In his first appearance as a pitcher Vasquez gave up only one hit and reached a velocity of 97 mph in the process. Vasquez is poised to excel and develop in his new position.

 

 

Yhency Brazoban of the Texas Rangers signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

May 25, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Yhency Brazoban, a right-handed pitcher in the Texas Rangers organization. Brazoban was signed by the New York Yankees in 1997 as an outfielder, and in 2003 was converted into a pitcher.

Yhency made his major league debut in 2004 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and in the following year set the Dodgers rookie record for appearances and saves in a season. In 2010, Yhency signed and played one season with the New York Mets. In 2011, he was signed by the Texas Rangers.

Currently, Yhency has a 2-0 record, with a 3.47 ERA and 30 strikeouts for the Round Rock Express (AAA). He has become one of the Express' most reliable relievers and is slated to be called up to the Rangers shortly.

 

 

MSM Client Galen Stone Signs Contract Extension with the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL

May 19, 2011- Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that Galen Stone has signed a contract extension for the 2011 season to play for the UFL team the Virginia Destroyers.  The former Saginaw Valley tight end is poised to make an immediate impact and have a bigger role on the Destroyers, as the veteran tight ends that he spent time behind last season are no longer with the team.  At Saginaw Valley he etched his name in the record books at seventh in career receiving yards (1,668) and eighth in receptions (122) while scoring 16 touchdowns.   

 

 

MSM Client Jonathon Smith Signs 3 Year Deal with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the CFL

May 19, 2011-Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that Jonathon Smith has signed a 3 year deal to play for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League.  After being a standout linebacker at the University of Connecticut and converted to running back at Delaware, Jonathon attended the Washington Redskins mini-camp in 2009.  Jonathon earned his contract with the Rough Riders as a linebacker after attending their rookie mini-camp.

 

 

Ryan Stovall earns Class-A Midwest League Player of the Month honors

May 19, 2011 – Metis Sports Management, LLC client Ryan Stovall has been named Player of the Month in the Class-A Midwest League for the month of April.  Ryan led all Midwest League players with nine Player of the Game awards during April, and is the midst of an impressive season with the Kane County Cougars.  Through 32 games, Ryan is hitting a stellar .300 average with 3 home runs and 15 RBI.

 

 

Metis Sports Management Welcomes Safety Ashton Hall

May 19, 2011 – Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Safety Ashton Hall. Hall was a standout at the University of Marshall and has spent time with Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts. The 5’10” Hall possesses outstanding athletic ability as demonstrated when he broke Randy Moss’ 11 year old Marshall vertical jump record of 43 inches in 2009.

 

 

Houston Astros call up RHP Fernando Rodriguez

May 19, 2011 – MSM client Fernando Rodriguez has been called up to the Major Leagues by the Houston Astros.  The relief pitcher earned his call up by dominating Class AAA recording 29 strikeouts in 21 innings with a 1.29 ERA. This will mark the first Major League action for the El Paso native since 2009 with the Los Angeles Angels.

 

 

Metis Sports Management Welcomes Safety/Linebacker James Vercammen

May 19, 2011 – Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of LB/S James Vercammen. Vercammen was a standout at the University of Dayton earning AFCA Coaches’ FCS All-American honors for the 2010 season. Vercammen was the top tackler on a team that was second in FCS football in rushing defense. Vercammen had 100 tackles (57 solo), 13.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three fumbles forced, two pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery on a 10-1 Flyers team.

 

 

Metis Sports Management, LLC welcomes University of Buffalo Safety, Davonte Shannon

May 19, 2011 – Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Davonte Shannon, a four year standout at Safety for the University of Buffalo.  The 6’0” 211LB Shannon was a four time All-MAC peformer at Buffalo and garnered significant interest from teams during the 2011 NFL Draft. Shannon will look to make an NFL roster when the lockout is lifted and NFL camps commence.

 

 

Trevor Feeney, RHP, Detroit Tigers prospect signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

May 11, 2011 – Metis Sports Management is pleased to announce the signing of Trevor Feeney, a right handed pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization. Trevor was at 31st round draft pick in the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft, and in 2010 set a Midwest League record for Innings Pitched with 184.2.

Feeney attended college at Northern Illinois and posted an ERA of 5.06 in four years. Currently, he leads the Florida State League in games started, and ranks second in innings pitched with 41.1.

 

 

Ryan Stovall, INF, Kansas City Royals prospect signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC

April 7, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Ryan Stovall an infielder and prospect of the Kansas City Royals organization. The 5'11 190 pound Stovall was a 19th round draft pick in the 2009 Amateur Draft and was named the Burlington Bee's Player of the Year in 2010 after hitting .303 with 15 doubles, five triples, four homeruns and 24 RBIs in 61 games for Burlington.

April 7, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC clients Eric Davis, Center, EMU and Austin Hughes, TE, Wayne State University were invited to the Detroit Lions Local Pro Day on April 20th. Davis and Hughes will ride their momentum coming off strong Pro Days at their respective colleges.

April 8, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC client DeLeon Gause attended the Miami Dolphins Local Pro Day recently. He showcased his skills at the Defensive Back position and also returned kicks and punts for the Dolphins staff.

 

 

MSM Client Austin Hughes has private workout with the Kansas City Chiefs

April 5, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC client Austin Hughes, TE, worked out privately for the Kansas City Chiefs Tuesday at Wayne State University. The 6'3 Wayne State product has gained notice of NFL scouts with his size, toughness and outstanding blocking ability.

 

 

MSM clients, Weston Dacus and Galen Stone have been protected by the UFL's Virginia Destroyers

April 5, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that clients Weston Dacus and Galen Stone have been protected by the UFL's Virginia Destroyers. Dacus, a linebacker from Arkansas, spent three seasons with the KC Chiefs and was the UFL Florida Tuskers 1st round pick in the 2010 UFL Draft. Stone, a tight end, from Saginaw Valley State University, was one of a small handful of true college free agents to sign with the UFL and saw action all season with the Florida Tuskers.

 

 

MSM client Jeremiah Weatherspoon signs a three year deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL

March 26, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that client Jeremiah Weatherspoon, DB, has signed to play with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. Weatherspoon played college football at Florida International University and spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints before agreeing to a deal with the Roughriders.

 

 

MSM Client Jeramy Avery, RB, jumps off the charts at Boise State Pro Day

March 24, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC client Jeramy Avery showed the burst and agility Thursday at the Boise State University Pro Day that made him a standout player for the Broncos over the past four seasons. The performance by Avery included a 38 inch vertical, 4.41 40 yard dash that would have placed him in the top 3 among running backs at this year's NFL Combine.

 

 

MSM client DeLeon Gause proves he's 100% recovered from injury and excels at BC Pro Day

March 23, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC client DeLeon Gause proved he's fully recovered from his knee injury and performed exceptionally well at the Boston College Pro Day. The 5'11 184 pound cornerback/kick returner was a force in the Eagles secondary with 27 tackles, an interception, 2 1/2 sacks, 5 1/2 tackles for loss and three pass defelections before a knee injury against Maryland ended his season.

 

 

MSM Client Michael Booker, OL, shines at Northwestern State University Pro Day

March 18, 2011 - Plaers from small schools can't make it in the NFL? Don't tell that to MSM client and draft hopeful Michael Booker who wowed scouts in attendance at the Northwestern State University Pro Day. The 6'3 314 pound FCS All-American broke down film and worked out individually for three teams after the Pro Day ended.

 

 

MSM client Eric Davis performs well at EMU and U of M Pro Day

March 17, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC client Eric Davis performed above expectations at both the Eastern Michigan University Pro Day and the University of Michigan Pro Day. The 6'2 306 pound center out of Eastern Michigan was seen by 22 NFL scouts during the two days and took full advantage of the opportunity.

 

 

Tom Ebert, RHP, Boston Red Sox Prospect signs with Metis Sports Management, LLC.

March 16, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Tom Ebert, a right-handed pitcher prospect in the Boston Red Sox organization. The 6'6 Ebert brings an intimidating presence on the mound and was a 19th round selection by the Red Sox in the 2009 Amateur Draft. Ebert spent the 2010 season with the Greenville Drive (Class A) going 10-4 with a 2.87 ERA and striking out 92 hitters in 94.0 innings pitched.

 

 

MSM Clients Austin Hughes and Blake Crider dominate GVSU Pro Day

March 14, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC NFL Draft hopefuls, Austin Hughes and Blake Crider shined at the GLIAC Pro Day held at Grand Valley State University. The pair of big and physical tight ends from Wayne State University and Northern Michigan University respectively, have contrasting styles of play, but both posses tremendous upside. Hughes benched pressed 225 lbs. 30 times while Crider ran a 4.70 in the 40 yard dash.

 

 

MSM Client, Jason Bruce Impresses at Pro Day; runs 40 Yard Dash in 4.35 seconds

March 4, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC client Jason Bruce ran the 40 yard dash in a blazing 4.35 seconds at the Troy University Pro Day. Some NFL scouts had clocked Jason at 4.25 seconds. Bruce's official time of 4.35 was faster than any player at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this year.

 

 

MSM Client, Renauld Williams signs with Hamilton Tiger-Cats of Canadian Football League

February 17, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that client Renauld Williams has signed a three year deal with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Williams, a linebacker from Hofstra, spent three seasons with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders where he recorded 98 tackles, 29 special team's tackles, six sacks, five forced fumbles, one interception and one blocked punt in 31 regular season games. He was slated to make the Pittsburgh Steelers after the 2010 NFL Pre-Season, but an injury in the last preseason game forced him to the Injured Reserve.

Williams was highly sought after by many Canadian teams during the 2011 CFL Free Agency period beginning on February 16th, but will add a veteran presence on a Hamilton team that finished second in the East Division and made it to the East Semi-Finals a season ago.

Williams spent time in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers.

 

 

Metis Sports Management, LLC welcomes Right Handed Pitcher, Yordany Ramirez of the Houston Astros

February 4, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Houston Astros, RHP, Yordany Ramirez.

Ramirez has played nine seasons in both the minor leagues and MLB as an outfielder. He was converted into a pitcher last season and sent to Single-A Lexington posting only five walks and seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. He is making a quick transition into the pitching role and has a tremendous arm throwing at 99 mph.

 

 

MSM client, Brandon West signs three year contract with Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the CFL

February 4, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce that client, Brandon West, has signed a contract with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League.

West was a standout running back from Western Michigan University from 2006-2009 where he holds the NCAA Division I FBS record for career kick return yards and all-purpose yards. West, began his professional career in 2010 with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL where he was released prior to the start of the season. He now will play for a Rough Rider team that finished 10-8 in the regular season and lost by three points in the Grey Cup Championship to Montreal.

 

 

Metis Sports Management signs UFL Florida Tusker, Galen Stone to Representation Contract

February 4, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signing of Galen Stone, a tight end and former standout at Saginaw Valley State University who played with the Florida Tuckers of the United Football League last season.

Stone caught 49 passes for 635 yards and 6 touchdowns as a senior at SVSU in 2009 and caught six passes for 90 yards including a long reception of 37 yards with the Tuskers in 2010.

 

 

Metis Sports Management, LLC announces final signings for 2011 NFL Draft Class

February 3, 2011 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signings of four prospects for the 2011 NFL Draft.

Mario Edwards, Safety, from Georgia Tech is one of the top safeties in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was a member of the 2011 Eastham All-Star Game in Arizona where he registered 12 tackles and 1 forced fumble. He ranked third on Georgia Tech with 67 tackles. Mario is an imposing figure at safety at 6'2 and 215lbs.

Jeremy Avery, Running Back, from Boise State is considered to be one of the fastest running backs in the 2011 NFL Draft. DeLeon Gause, Cornerback, from Boston College is a hard nosed corner with good speed and a knack for finding the ball. In 2010, Gause recorded 27 tackles, 3 sacks and 1 interception returned for a 66 yard touchdown until his season was cut short after the 8th game due to a knee injury.

Jason Bruce, Wide Receiver, from Troy University is a blazer with a recorded 40 yard time of 4.3 seconds. He was recognized by Phil Steele as an All-Conference selection. He posted 47 receptions for 613 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2010 for the Trojans. Bruce had his best game in 2010 against Oklahoma State where he caught 4 passes for 62 yards including a 15 yard touchdown.

 

 

Metis Sports Management announces first signings for 2011 NFL Draft Class

December 29, 2010 - Metis Sports Management, LLC is pleased to announce the signings of three prospects for the 2011 NFL Draft.

Micheal Booker, Offensive LIneman from Northwestern State University is coming off his best season in college football. Booker was named to the Associated Press All-America Team for the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. Booker, a 6-foot-3, 314-pounder from Paris, Texas and North Lamar High School, was a second-team selection on the AP All-America squad announced Wednesday. Booker was a Preseason All-America choice of Consensus Draft Services and made first-team All-Southland Conference honors as voted by the league's eight head coaches and eight sports information directors. Booker, a three-year starter after transferring before his sophomore season from Oklahoma State, led the Demons with 66 knockdown blocks and had three games with grades over 90 percent as a senior. He was NSU's top offensive lineman in each of his three years in the program while playing under offensive line coach Jeremy Offutt.

Eric Davis, Center, Eastern Michigan University took over the starting center position in the seventh game of the 2007 season, at Ohio (Oct. 13), and started the last six consecutive games that season, all 12 in 2008, and eight in 2009. He was one of the key factors in EMU's improved rushing game the last three seasons. Davis played in 30 games, 26 as a starter and was chosen as a preseason fourth-team All-Mid-American Conference pick in Phil Steele's 2009 College Football Preview magazine. Davis was selected as an honorable mention choice on the Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team in 2008 and 2009 with a 3.45 GPA.

Blake Crider, Tight End, Northern Michigan University Career, is a 6'5" and 265lbs athletic tight end that was a team leader for the NMU Wildcats in 2010. He haulded in 15 receptions for 207 yards and two scores and was a primary blocker in run situations. In 2009, Crider lettered for the third time and caught 10 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Had a career-high three catches for 47 yards against Wayne State.

Roger Bernadina played with the Washington Nationals this season and became one of the leading defensive outfielders in the major leagues.
